CD Cover: The Dreamer

Thom Rayne is a singer/songwriter whose songs embody the love, passion, mission, and dreams that make up who he is. With a career in music spanning nearly two decades, he has recently received some notable recognition of his many talents. In 1997 and again in 1998 Thom made the finals in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Contest (Kerrville Folk Festival). Thom has also appeared twice as a finalist in the South Florida Folk Festival National Songwriting competition and as a performer in the 1998 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival "New Artist" showcase. Most recently, he won 3rd place (folk/country) in Billboard Magazine's 1999 Song Contest.

With his early musical influences rooted in R&B and rock/pop music, Thom was drawn into the acoustic/folk genre by the simple honesty of writers and performers such as James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg and David Wilcox. His original songs alternately paint scenes of hope and despair, loves won and lost, and the strength and determination of the human spirit. Combining his engineering, production and artistic skills, Thom crafted eleven of his songs into his debut CD release, entitled, THE DREAMER, and is currently completing production of his highly-anticipated second album, MAKE IT REAL.

Thom is a masterful guitarist, a gifted singer, and a skillfully inspired songwriter, but that isn't what impresses people the most. Fans say that Thom Rayne has a genuine warmth, honesty, and enthusiasm that makes being in the audience both entertaining and emotionally uplifting.
